Multicity.com to Power Multilingual Communications
for The Internet Security Forum

Chat Rooms with Instant Translation Unite Panelists, Attendees and Online Viewers

Tysons Corner, Va.-September 27, 2000-Multicity, Inc., an open global network offering free, online multilingual communications tools and services, today announced that Internet broadcasting leader Streampipe.com has selected Multicity to provide the collaborative communications technology behind The Internet Security Forum, a joint event between CXO Media and the Critical Infrastructure Assurance Office (CIAO) of the United States Department of Commerce. Senior executives from around the world will be able to participate in this groundbreaking event by visiting www.cio.com/webcast and www.darwinmag.com/webcast and interacting online via E-mail and through Multicity.com's moderated, instant translation-enabled chat room.

To facilitate international participation from CIOs and CEOs, CXO Media has invited more than 40,000 of these executives to offer their comments and questions to the panelists during the event's live webcast. The webcast of the Forum's panel discussion is scheduled for today (September 27) at 1:00 p.m. EDT at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C.

"We chose Multicity to provide the communications tools for this forum because their global multilingual communications products enable a worldwide audience to interact on important policy issues," said Sherman Hamilton, VP Marketing, Streampipe.com. "Multicity.com's creativity and technology combined with Streampipe's experience delivering high-quality streaming media, make for a potent combination, and we look forward to partnering with Multicity.com in other similar venues."

Available on the CIO.com and Darwinmag.com Web sites, Multicity.com's instant translation-enabled chat room will allow executives to conduct conversations in multiple languages. This communications functionality, which is only available from Multicity, instantly translates text conversations into English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian enabling users to view messages in their native languages and communicate multilingually. Multicity.com's multilingual communications product suite includes chat rooms with instant translation, message boards, instant messaging with instant translation, match profiling and voting booths-all available in a growing number of languages.

In addition, Multicity.com's patent-pending In-the-Box(TM) technology provides businesses with a powerful viral marketing-based customer acquisition tool. This technology enables companies to send Web-based chat rooms, message boards, voting booths and instant messengers through E-mail to their staff, customers, vendors and others. The recipient can instantly forward these tools to any number of other people and communicate in real-time. Since there are no attachments or software to download, the tools are instantly accessible when the person opens his or her E-mail inbox.

"Combining Streampipe's world-class streaming media capabilities with the multilingual functionality of our chat technology will empower multinational executives to participate in this important event," said Patrick Hanash, President and co-founder of Multicity.com. "We are excited about this partnership and the opportunity to facilitate international communication on the very timely and significant issue of Internet security."

The Internet Security Forum, which will address major online security issues such as cyber-terrorism, cyber-crime and business continuity, will be moderated by Lou Dobbs, former CNN executive and host of CNN's "Moneyline News Hour with Lou Dobbs," and current Chairman and CEO of Space.com. Confirmed speakers include Secretary of Commerce Norman Y. Mineta, Senator Robert Bennett and Richard A. Clarke, National Coordinator for Security, Infrastructure, Protection and Counter-Terrorism. The forum also will include an expert panel of governmental, political and industry leaders and an audience of 100 top CEOs and CIOs.
