MULTICITY.COM SELECTED BY VIRGINIA SECRETARY OF TECHNOLOGY FOR TRADE MISSION TO IRELAND AND SCOTLAND

Leading Provider of Enterprise Multilingual Communications Solutions Fosters Business Partnerships with Internet-Focused Companies

Tysons Corner, VA-November 14, 2000 - Multicity, Inc., an open global network offering online multilingual communications products and services for businesses and consumers, today announced its recent participation in a trade mission to Ireland and Scotland sponsored by Virginia's Office of the Secretary of Technology. In recognition of its development of innovative, globally focused Internet communications tools, including the first-ever instant translation-enabled chat room and instant messaging products, Multicity joined a group of Virginia's leading high-technology companies on the trip, which was led by Donald W. Upson, Secretary of Technology, Commonwealth of Virginia.

Multicity and its private sector counterparts met with many of the foremost Internet-focused technology companies in the two countries to foster collaborative business relationships. They also participated in discussions headed by Secretary Upson with senior government officials in Ireland and Scotland to promote cooperative initiatives that expedite high-technology investment and growth in their respective economies. The trade mission covered several key cities including Dublin, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

"Multicity.com's integration of instant translation technology with its Internet communications products places Multicity in the forefront of companies that are using the Internet as a global medium for promoting international business and consumer interaction without regard to language differences," said Donald W. Upson, Virginia's Secretary of Technology. "It is exciting and innovative companies like Multicity on whose success Virginia is coming to be recognized as the Digital Dominion."

Representing Multicity, Jeff Goddard, senior analyst for business development at Multicity, met with top government officials including Ireland's Deputy Prime Minister, Mary Harney, and Scotland's Minister of Public Enterprise and Lifelong Learning, Henry McLeish. Goddard also met with senior business executives from Microsoft-Scotland; Eircom, Ireland's largest Internet service provider; and The Media Laboratory of the Massachusetts Institute Technology, which launched a new facility in Ireland, and discussed Multicity.com's global enterprise communications solutions.

Multicity.com's enterprise-level product suite includes instant translation-enabled chat rooms and instant messaging, Web polls, message boards, profile matching and auctions with instant translation functionality, all of which are available in multiple languages. Goddard demonstrated Multicity.com's product suite during these discussions and highlighted its ability to provide businesses with a Web-based, comprehensive solution to their worldwide multilingual communications needs.

"Multicity.com's foundation began with the belief that the Internet is a global medium that isn't really being used to its full potential to meet the needs of non-English speaking business and consumer users," said Patrick Hanash, president of Multicity.com. "We are honored that the Secretary of Technology selected Multicity to participate in this trade mission and thus afforded us the opportunity to demonstrate how our products are truly lowering language barriers on the Internet and enabling people to communicate both socially and commercially across the globe. We also are excited about the potential for establishing partnerships with the flourishing community of high-tech entreprenurial companies in Ireland and Scotland."
