The U.S. office of Amnesty International,
the world's largest human rights organization,
uses Multicity's Peer Group Collaboration platform
to facilitate online knowledge sharing among task
force and committee members.
Traditionally, widely dispersed groups like Amnesty
International have used on-site events, conference
calls, and fax broadcast programs to promote knowledge
sharing among its members -- all means of communication
which proved costly to the organization. The deployment
of Multicity's Peer Group Collaboration platform
facilitates the distribution of organizational
expertise, and does it more efficiently and cost
effectively than through traditional methods.
Amnesty's membership community also uses the platform
to host large discussion forums where members
can disseminate and learn of "best practices"
in specific areas.
